Dr. Ka'imi Pilipovich
Vice President for Academic Development
IBA Academic Committee
Ka'imi has been practicing BodyTalk since 2000, and he is now an Advanced Senior BodyTalk Instructor. He is also a licensed acupuncturist and licensed massage therapist. Ka'imi has recently left his position on the faculty of the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii, and relocated to New Zealand.
In his role as Vice President of Academic Development, Ka'imi works with John Veltheim and the IBA Office in advancing the scope of the BodyTalk curriculum. He also works with the Vice President of Academic Studies to create and oversee various subcommittees to manage manual upgrades, instructor applications and specific research projects and articles. The Academic Committee and its subgroups are responsible for ensuring that instructors are provided with the tools and support they need to deliver high-quality BodyTalk courses. Their mission is to work closely with the IBA office to increase both the quality and the quantity of IBA coursework and supporting material.
Sylvia Muiznieks
Vice President for Academic Studies

A Calgary resident since 1981, Sylvia enjoyed her childhood and university days in Waterloo, Ontario. Her greatest passion over the years (other than her husband, two sons and dogs) has been her teaching — ranging from ballet and modern dance classes in her late teens; to family life education, massage technique and anatomy and physiology courses early in her career, to BodyTalk and Mindscape training today. Sylvia became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner in September 2000, a Certified BodyTalk Instructor in January 2002, a Senior Instructor in September 2003 and is now an Advanced Senior Instructor. She is also a MindScape Instructor.
In her role as Vice President of Academic Studies, she creates and oversees various subcommittees to manage manual upgrades, instructor applications and specific research projects and articles, and works in conjunction with the Vice President for Academic Development in advancing the BodyTalk curriculum. The Academic Committee and its subgroups are responsible for ensuring that instructors are provided with the tools and support they need to deliver high-quality BodyTalk courses. Their mission is to work closely with the IBA office to increase both the quality and the quantity of IBA coursework and supporting material.
Todd and Angela Adkins
Vice President for Members
Angela M. Adkins is a registered licensed therapist, Reiki Master, Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CPB) and Certified BodyTalk Instructor. Angela, who in 2001 became the first CPB in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, now is in the process of becoming the first U.S.- based MindScape Instructor. Angela majored in Business at the University of North Texas and is a graduate of the Austin School of Massage Therapy. She is a business owner and the mother of two.
Todd C. Adkins is a physical therapist, Certified BodyTalk Practitioner and a Certified BodyTalk Instructor. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and, in 1993, graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. Todd has an extensive background in orthopedics, manual therapy techniques and sports medicine.
Todd and Angela jointly represent and advocate for the IBA Membership.
Gilly Adkins
Vice President for Instructors
Gilly is a multi-faceted professional with a degree in Physiotherapy from London, England and many years experience in the healing and body-mind field. Discovering The BodyTalk System™ in 1999, Gilly was "deeply impressed with Dr. John Veltheim and intuitively understood the significance of the System at once". After introducing The BodyTalkSystem to Portland, as a Certified Practitioner, she became a Certified BodyTalk Instructor in 2002.
Gilly is well known for her understanding and articulation of the body-mind complex. Her expertise as a physiotherapist, along with her significant training background and mastery of BodyTalk, creates a wonderful learning environment for BodyTalk practitioners and Instructors. Infusing her teaching/learning environment with grace and joy, Gilly delights in assisting practitioners with their own healing and helping them build their confidence in practice.
Born in London, England, Gilly has lived in the United States since 1986 and has three children. She loves to travel and has toured extensively in Europe and Africa (she speaks French and is currently studying Italian). Every summer Gilly travels to England to visit family and teach BodyTalk.
Dr. Jennifer Harrison
Co-VP of Access (for the Americas)
Jennifer works as a Certified Athletic Therapist, Chiropractor, CBP and ParBP in a multidisciplinary clinic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is also an educator and teaches manual therapy techniques to athletic therapists, physiotherapists and registered massage therapists across Canada. Jennifer first started studying BodyTalk in 2001, became a CBP in 2002 and a ParBP in 2006. In 2007 Jennifer also became an Access Trainer after completing her training with Sylvia Muiznieks.
Jennifer is very honoured to have been chosen to be the IBA co-VP of Access. Morag Bromfield has been the Access VP since 2007 and Jennifer has been amazed and inspired by the work Morag has done in South Africa (and beyond) promoting BodyTalk and particularly Access. It’s a great privilege for Jennifer to be working in tandem with her. Jennifer sees accepting this new role within the IBA Matrix as a great opportunity to further support and promote Access.
Morag Bromfield
Vice President for Access
Vice President Morag Bromfield is charged with overseeing and representing BodyTalk Access, a growing IBA discipline designed to allow more persons to learn about, and use, BodyTalk.
Morag trained as a Registered General Nurse and Midwife and has practiced as such for more than 20 years. Realizing the importance of complementary healthcare, she completed a Reflexology Diploma in 1993 and a Holistic Massage Diploma in 1994; she became a Reiki Master in 1997 and has been teaching Reiki for several years. In 2003, she became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner and in December 2006, she qualified as a BodyTalk Instructor for Modules 1 and 2 and is also an Access Trainer. She has a full-time practice in Westville, Durban, KZN, South Africa. Morag has been instrumental in bringing BodyTalk Access into the countryside of Kwazulu Natal province of South Africa. In her position as Vice President for Access she will be working to promote Access in other third world settings around the globe as well as in homes and schools everywhere.
Kristy Kenny
Vice President for Life Sciences
Vice President Kristy Kenny is charged with overseeing and representing the BreakThrough, MindScape and Freefall modalities within the BodyTalk System. Currently, she is the IBA’s only Instructor qualified to teach BodyTalk, MindScape, BreakThrough and FreeFall.
Kristy graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.A. in “Psychology” and Special Interest Rehabilitative Medicine (Speech Pathology and Audiology). She entered into bodywork as a massage therapist and later became an instructor for accredited massage colleges in both Alberta and British Columbia. Her focus as Vice President for Life Sciences is to represent and promote these valuable personal growth disciplines around the world.
